It’s been a 2day treck with the first day ascending from the Lucknerhaus (1920m) to the Stüdlhütte (2800m) to meet the mountain guide and to further ascend to the Erzherzog Johann Hütte (Adlerhorst, 3454m). This was the base for starting the final ascend next morning. 6:00am (with a little headache from the thin air) we started for the summit. Safely secured with ropes and equipped with crampons we managed to get through the steep snowy and icy “Glocknerleitl” and continued with rock climbing along the “Süd-Ost-Grat” to get to the final destination. I personally found the “Glocknerscharte” mostly challenging!
To get an idea, tried to find some good pictures from other expeditions. These here are pretty good, though we had some less snow!
